How to make orange vanilla sugar cookies
These vegan orange sugar cookies are super easy to make! First, make the vegan egg replacer by combining it with water and set aside. Next, zest the orange and place the zest in a small bowl. In a large bowl combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Then juice the orange and pour it into the egg replacer bowl. Add sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and orange extract to the egg bowl as well. After that is mixed, combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and add the orange zest! Then set the dough in the fridge for 30 min.
When the dough is almost done chilling preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then remove the dough from the fridge and using a medium cookie scoop scoop out the cookie dough. Roll the dough in your hands to form a perfect circle and then roll each dough ball in powdered sugar. Place the cookie dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack and allow to cool before dusting with powdered sugar.
Why is orange zest so important?
Orange zest is what makes these soft sugar cookies irresistible! The rine of an orange contains oil and the oil is like a concentrated version of the orange flavor. So, by adding orange zest to these orange cookies, you take the flavor to a whole new level!

These cookies are a MUST MAKE. I don’t eat dairy but I do eat eggs so I used regular eggs instead of egg replacer and they came out amazing! They are soft and the orange flavour goes so well with the vanilla – they taste like an orange creamsicle in cookie form. I’ve already eaten 3 in the last hour since I made them. Thank you thank you for this incredible recipe. I will definitely be making these again!
