Description
Vegan orange sugar cookies made with rich vanilla extract and zesty orange flavor! These soft orange cookies are the perfect holiday treat!

- 1/2 cup of melted vegan butter
- 1/4 cup fresh oj
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp. Ener-g egg Replacer or Bob’s Red Mill
- 4 Tbsp. water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. orange extract
- 2 tsp. orange zest
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
Instructions
- Combine the Ener-G egg replacer with water, whisk together, and set aside for 5 minutes while you complete steps 2 & 3.
- In a medium bowl combine flour, salt, and baking soda.
- Next, zest the orange and set the zest aside.
- In the same bowl as the vegan egg replacer add freshly squeezed orange juice, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and orange extract. Stir well until combined.
- Then, add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms and then add the orange zest and stir until incorporated.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- When the dough is almost done chilling preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Pour a small amount of powdered sugar into a shallow dish for dusting the cookie dough with.
- Then remove the dough from the fridge and use a medium cookie scoop. Scoop the dough out and roll the ball in between your hands until it is perfectly round.
- Then roll the cookie dough ball in powdered sugar and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and transfer the cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely.
- Then dust with powdered sugar and enjoy!
