Hello, my name is Mikyla and I’m the writer, photographer, and recipe developer behind Flax & Sugar. I started this blog with two things in mind: Eating plant-based shouldn’t be a sacrifice for flavor, and that pretty food tastes better. I developed a love for photography and recipe development, which lead me to share my visuals across multiple social media platforms.
Alongside like-minded brands, I aim to tell captivating stories through flavors and imagery. I love helping brands attract their ideal customer through creative food styling and product photography. I’m also a freelance photographer in the Spokane Washington area working with restaurants, other bloggers, and brands!

Photography for Bloggers: I get it. Blogging is a full-time job! So, let me take some of the stress off your plate by shooting your recipes for you! This way you will have more time to create recipes and use your energy where you’d like to!
Brand Ambassadorship: As a blogger, I use all kinds of household products on any given day. Kitchen tools, ingredients, equipment, linens, even cozy socks. I am always open to considering Brand Ambassadorships opportunities which I showcase through my website, socials, or advertising space on the blog.
Sponsored Posts: Sponsored posts are an effective and organic way to connect my wonderful readers with your fabulous brand or product. Sponsored posts can be a single simple post, or a whole series complete with Instagram stories, reels, and IGTV features as well!
